The Original Tale of Tuffy

One day, when Tuffy was a baby, he saw his new crib. Tuffy thought that he was going to play in it. “No,” woofed his Mama. “That’s for you to sleep in.”

A couple days passed. It was Tuffy’s birthday. He was turning one. “I can’t wait,” exclaimed Tuffy. His friends popped up as he went in the room and they said, “surprise!”

“This will be the best party ever,” yelled Tuffy. He watched the candles as they were lit, until the lights went out and everybody began singing happy birthday to Tuffy. “Wow,” thought Tuffy. “This was a great party after all.”

The next day, when Tuffy woke up, he had some breakfast and then he went and watched a cartoon before he went to school. At school, for his first day, they were having a party. The teacher, Ms. Easter, had a cotton candy and an ice cream stand. “Wow,” yelled the class. They ate and ate and ate until their bodies were full.

When they came home on the bus, they were very, very fat. “What happened to you?“ asked mom.

“Don’t mention it,” said Tuffy, until Tuffy got sick.

“Are you OK?” asked Mama.

“Yup,” said Tuffy.
